The production of surplus food energized the the great unwashed and expanded the population. Massive population growth led to the expansion of villages in to cities along the villages of Tigris and Euphrates in the Middle East. The fertile land between the two rivers led to the schooling of powerful dynasties to control and protect this treasurer from intruders. Archaeological evidence shows piles of ruins in the valleys of Nile as the remains of opulent cities, well-organized social structures and political organization. From this archaeological evidence, it is wanton that ancient civilization never began in the West. It originated in Africa, Southern Europe and Eastern Asia, as John G. Jackson writes.
